Bracelets break harder than necklaces
It is the wrist that does the damage. A bracelet is on the hand you work with. It knocks against desks, door handles, steering wheels and coat sleeves all day, and it takes impacts a chain around your neck never sees.
So bracelets come to us more often, and they almost always fail in the same two places: the clasp, or the link immediately beside it. Both are same-day work. We solder at our own bench here in the store, check the rest of the bracelet while it is open, and clean and polish it before it goes back on your wrist.
- Most repairs finished the same day, a lot of them within the hour.
- Nothing is shipped — it stays inside Orland Square Mall.
- Checked along its length, because the next weak link is usually near the last one.
Too big, too small
Sizing is the other half of what we do here. A bracelet that spins round your wrist or slides over your hand can have links taken out and be closed back up so the join does not show. One that is too tight can often be lengthened if the style allows it.
We fit it to your wrist at the counter rather than working from a measurement you took at home with a piece of string. It takes two minutes and it is the difference between a bracelet you wear and one you do not.
Tennis bracelets
A tennis bracelet that has lost one stone has usually loosened others — the whole line flexes together, so wear is shared along it. When one comes in we check every setting rather than just the empty one, and we will tell you if more are moving. That conversation is cheaper than the second phone call.
Anklets
Same work, same bench, same day. Anklets take a particular beating around the ankle bone and the clasp end usually goes first. Bring it in and we will look at it with you.
What we do on bracelets and anklets
- Broken links soldered — gold, silver and platinum, every style.
- Clasp replacement — lobsters, spring rings and box clasps, matched to the weight of the piece.
- Jump ring repair — the small ring beside the clasp, welded rather than squeezed.
- Shortening and lengthening — links removed or added.
- Terminal replacement — the end fittings the clasp attaches to.
- Tennis bracelet work — stones checked and tightened along the line.
- Cleaning and polishing — included with every repair.
What will it cost?
Is it a link bracelet, a chain, or a bangle? Solid or hollow? Did it give at a link, at the clasp, or at a jump ring that has stretched open? Does it want shortening or lengthening while it is on the bench? Those are the questions we would be asking with it in our hands. Swing by Julio’s Jewelry at Orland Square Mall and let us have a proper look at it together.

Questions we get asked
My bracelet is too big — can you shorten it?
Yes. We take links out and close it back up so the join does not show. Bring it in and we will fit it to your wrist at the counter rather than guessing from a measurement.
The clasp keeps coming undone on its own.
That is a worn spring and it will let go completely before long. Replacing the clasp is quick, and it costs a great deal less than replacing the bracelet after you lose it.
Can you repair a hollow bracelet?
Often yes, but hollow links need a lighter hand and we would want to see it first. We will tell you straight away whether it is worth doing.
Do you repair tennis bracelets?
Yes — and we check every stone while it is on the bench, because a tennis bracelet that has lost one has usually loosened others.
How long will it take?
Most bracelet and anklet repairs are done the same day, and many within the hour while you walk the mall.
