The one ring nobody wants to hand over
We understand the hesitation. An engagement ring or a wedding band is not a piece of jewelry you feel relaxed about leaving with a stranger, and you should not have to.
So the whole job happens in front of you. The ring is examined at the counter with you standing there, the work and the price are explained before anything is touched, and the repair is carried out at our own bench inside the store. It does not get packed into an envelope, it does not go to a workshop in another state, and it does not leave Orland Square Mall at any point.
- Quoted before it's touched — you approve the work and the figure first.
- Stones checked and tightened as part of every job, not as an extra.
- Most work finished the same day, a lot of it while you wait.
- Nothing is shipped, so there is no window where your ring is somewhere neither of us can see it.
Bring it in any time during mall hours.
The jobs a wedding set actually needs
- Resizing — fingers change with weather, pregnancy, weight and years.
- Soldering the set together — so the engagement ring and band stop twisting apart and wearing on each other.
- Prong re-tipping — the single most important maintenance on a diamond ring.
- Loose centre stone — tightened before it becomes a lost centre stone.
- Re-shanking — when the bottom of the band has worn thin enough to flex.
- Rhodium replating — for white gold that has gone warm and yellowish.
- Cleaning — most rings look dull from a film under the stone, not from damage.
Why it matters that we do not ship
An engagement ring is the piece people are most anxious to hand over, and with reason: the standard mall-counter model is to mail it to a workshop in another state and give you a paper slip for two or three weeks.
Your ring does not leave this store. The work happens at a bench you can see from the counter, usually within the hour, and you take it home the same visit. For most people that is the entire reason they drive here.
Heirloom and antique rings
Old European cut diamonds, filigree, milgrain, and settings nobody makes any more. These need a laser welder rather than a torch so the original finish and any heat-sensitive stones survive. We will tell you honestly what can be restored and what is better left as it is.
What will it cost?
Is it the shank that has worn through, or a prong that has given up? Is the centre stone moving when you press it? Is it an eternity or channel-set band — and if it is, can it be worked with at all? Does the set want soldering together, or kept as two rings? None of that gets answered down a phone line. Bring it out to Julio’s Jewelry inside Orland Square Mall, let us take a look, and you will get an honest estimate right there at the counter.

Questions we get asked
How long will you have my engagement ring?
Most work is done the same day, and much of it while you wait at the counter. You get the collection time in writing before you hand anything over.
Can you solder my engagement ring and wedding band together?
Yes, and it is one of the most common jobs we do. Soldering them stops the two rings twisting apart and wearing against each other. They are joined so the pair still sits correctly on your finger.
Can you resize a ring with stones all the way around?
An eternity band cannot be sized the usual way — there is no plain metal to cut. Options are sizing beads, a partial re-shank, or in some cases removing and resetting stones. Bring it in and we will tell you which applies before anything is cut.
How long does resizing take?
Usually within the hour, same day. A re-shank or a set that needs soldering together may take longer, and you get the time along with the price before work starts.
Should I solder my engagement ring and band together?
It stops them twisting and rubbing, and many people prefer it. The trade-off is you can no longer wear them separately, and future resizing is done on both at once. It is reversible, but it is a real decision — we will talk it through rather than just doing it.
