What we keep in the case
Chain is the thing people come back for. We keep a working spread of it rather than one of everything — rope and Figaro because they are what most people want, Franco and box because they last, Cuban because it holds its shape, herringbone for the people who know exactly what they are after.
Widths from something that sits quietly under a collar up to a piece that is meant to be seen. Necklaces, bracelets and anklets, and if the length you want is not on the tray we can size a chain for you at the same bench that does the repairs.
Questions worth coming in with
What length do you actually wear? Solid or hollow — hollow is lighter on the neck and kinder on the wallet, solid takes more wear and repairs better later. What karat? Are you buying it for yourself or as a gift, and does it need a pendant to hang on it?
None of that is a phone conversation. Chain is something you have to see on, and weight in the hand tells you more than any description.
We size it, and we fix it later
Buying a chain from a counter that also repairs chain is not nothing. If it needs shortening we do it here. If it breaks in two years you bring it back to the same bench rather than posting it to a stranger.
What it costs
Prices move with the metal market and with the piece itself, so we would rather show you than quote you down a phone line. Come and see what is in the case, try it on, and we will tell you exactly where it sits. Layaway and SNAP financing are both available.
The cases change week to week, so the pictures here show the kind of thing we carry rather than a particular piece. Come and see what is in today.
Questions we get asked
What chain styles do you carry?
Rope, Figaro, Franco, box, Cuban and herringbone in the main, in 10k, 14k and 18k gold and in sterling silver. The spread changes as things sell, so come and look at what is in the case today.
Do you sell bracelets and anklets too?
Yes — the same styles in bracelet and anklet lengths. If the length you want is not on the tray we can size one for you at our own bench.
Solid or hollow — which should I buy?
Depends how you wear it. Hollow is lighter and cheaper for the same look; solid takes daily wear better and is easier to repair down the line. Bring your wrist or your neck in and we will show you both.
Can you shorten a chain I buy?
Yes, at the same bench that does our repairs, usually while you are still in the mall.
Looking for something in particular?
Tell us roughly what you are after and we will tell you whether it is in the case, or whether it is something we would make for you. Either way you will not waste a trip.
