What we can usually do
- Make a match. On a fairly plain stud or hoop this is very doable — we work from the one you have.
- Source a match. On a manufactured design there is sometimes a matching piece to be found.
- Turn it into a pendant. The commonest answer, and often the nicest one. A single stud makes a small pendant that gets worn far more than a pair in a drawer did.
- Reset the stone. The diamond or gemstone goes into a ring, a pendant or into another pair you already own.
- Make a single. A single earring worn on its own is a real thing people do now, and sometimes that is the whole answer.
- Add it to something. A charm on a bracelet, or set with other odd stones into one piece.
Bring the one you have, and anything else it came with
The box, the paperwork, a photo of the pair if you have one. It all helps, and none of it is essential. The survivor on the counter is the main thing.
Matching is harder than it sounds, and we will be straight with you
With a stone, the replacement has to sit next to the original in size, colour and cut, not just size. That is why we compare in hand rather than off a number. If we do not think a match will look right, we will say so and show you the other routes instead.
Odd earrings add up
If you have a small collection of singles, bring the whole lot. Several odd earrings made into one piece is some of our favourite work, and it is usually the pieces nobody was wearing that end up worn the most.
Bring it in and we will look at it
Every piece is different and matching work especially so. Put it on the counter, tell us what has happened, and we will tell you what we see and what we would do about it. You decide from there, before anything is agreed.

I lost one earring — can you make a match?
Often, yes, working from the one you have. Bring it in and we will tell you what we think.
What if a match would not look right?
We will say so, and show you the other routes — a pendant, a reset, or a single worn on its own.
Can a single stud be made into a pendant?
Yes, and it is the most popular answer. It gets worn far more than it did in a drawer.
I have several odd earrings — can they be combined?
Yes, and that is some of our favourite work. Bring the whole lot.
Will you tell me what you find before doing any work?
Always. We look at it with you at the counter, tell you what we see, and you decide.
