How much will fit
More than people expect on a wide band, less than they hope on a slim one. A narrow band takes initials and a date comfortably. A wider one will take a short line. We measure the inside and show you before anything is cut, so there are no surprises.
Choose the style
- Block — clear, even, reads well at any size. The safe choice, and often the right one.
- Script — warmer and more personal. Needs a little more room to read properly.
- Your own handwriting — bring it written on paper and we can work from it. People are often surprised this is possible.
- A date in numbers — the most-requested engraving there is, and it always fits.
Things worth knowing first
Is the ring already sized right? Engraving before a resize means the text can end up cut through. Get the size settled first. Is it plated — because engraving cuts through plating and it will want replating after. Is the inside curved (comfort fit), which changes how the lettering has to sit?
Proof it before we cut
We write out exactly what will be engraved and you read it back before we start. Every spelling, every digit of the date. Engraving is not reversible and thirty seconds of checking has saved a great many rings.
