Bring whatever you have
A drawing, a photo of something similar, a picture off your phone, or just a description and the willingness to talk it through. Most people arrive apologising for their sketch. It does not matter. What matters is that we understand what you are picturing.
What we will work out together
- Metal — gold in 10k, 14k or 18k, yellow, white or rose. Silver. Platinum.
- Stones — yours, or sourced. Natural, lab-grown, moissanite or CZ.
- Size and proportion — how it will actually sit on the hand, which is where most sketches need adjusting.
- Finish — polished, brushed, hammered, antiqued.
- Engraving, if it is going inside.
Nothing is made until you say so
You see the design and approve it before any metal is cut. That is the rule, and it is why people come back with the second commission.
Timing
Most custom pieces take about one to two weeks. If it is for a date — a proposal, an anniversary, a birthday — tell us the date when you come in rather than at the end, and we will work back from it.
Questions we get asked
Do I need a proper drawing?
No. A rough sketch, a photo or a description is plenty. We draw it out with you at the counter.
Can you use my own stones?
Yes, and plenty of people do. Bring them in with the idea.
How long does custom work take?
Usually one to two weeks. Tell us if there is a date attached.
Do I approve it before it is made?
Always. Nothing is made until you have signed off the design.
Not sure we can fix it?
Send a couple of details and we will call you back. Or just walk in — it is quicker, and we can actually look at the piece.
Drop it off, shop the mall, wear it tonight
We are inside Orland Square Mall in Orland Park. Walk in during mall hours, no appointment. Most repairs are finished the same day and a good number while you wait.
