What counts
- Single earrings whose partner went years ago.
- Snapped chains, including the ones too tangled to bother with.
- Bent or broken rings.
- Charms and pendants with nothing to hang them on.
- Pieces missing stones, or stones with no piece.
- Anything you have stopped meaning to fix.
Do not sort it first
People arrive apologising for the state of the bag. There is no need. We will go through it on the counter with you and separate what is what. You may well find something in there is worth more than you thought, and that only comes out when someone looks properly.
We will flag anything worth keeping
If something in the bag is worth repairing rather than selling, or worth more as a piece than as metal, we will tell you. That happens more often than you would think, usually with a chain that just needs a clasp.
Plated pieces
We will tell you if something is plated rather than solid. Plenty of it is, and it is better to hear it straight than to be quietly given nothing for it.
Questions we get asked
Does it need to be wearable?
No. Broken, bent, tangled and single pieces are all fine.
Should I untangle it first?
No need. We will go through it on the counter with you.
Will you tell me if something is worth keeping?
Yes. If a piece is worth more repaired, we will say so.
What about plated jewelry?
We will tell you what is plated and what is solid rather than leave you guessing.
Not sure we can fix it?
Send a couple of details and we will call you back. Or just walk in — it is quicker, and we can actually look at the piece.
Drop it off, shop the mall, wear it tonight
We are inside Orland Square Mall in Orland Park. Walk in during mall hours, no appointment. Most repairs are finished the same day and a good number while you wait.
